    Success is located in northwestern Clay County at 36°27′16″N 90°43′23″W / 36.45444°N 90.72306°W / 36.45444; -90.72306 (36.454579, -90.722971),[5] just east of the Little Black River, a tributary of the Current River.

    As of the census[7] of 2000, there were 180 people, 71 households, and 49 families residing in the town. The population density was 315.9/km² (824.1/mi²). The racial makeup of the town was 98.33% White, 1.11% Native American, and 0.56% from two or more races. 1.11% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.

    There were 71 households out of which 33.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 52.1% were married couples living together, 14.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 29.6% were non-families. 28.2% of all households were made up of individuals and 23.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
