    In a 2004 attempt to increase the population and school enrollment, the village offered free home lots on the condition that the new owner build a house within a year.[9] Three weeks after the publication of the offer, seven of the fifteen available lots had been claimed.[10]

    As of the census[2] of 2010, there were 880 people, 326 households, and 227 families residing in the village. The population density was 1,113.9 inhabitants per square mile (430.1/km2). There were 350 housing units at an average density of 443.0 per square mile (171.0/km2). The racial makeup of the village was 98.5% White, 0.1% African American, 0.2% Native American, 0.3% Asian, and 0.8% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.9% of the population.

    There were 326 households of which 36.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 61.0% were married couples living together, 4.9% had a female householder with no husband present, 3.7% had a male householder with no wife present, and 30.4% were non-families. 26.1% of all households were made up of individuals and 13.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
