Are the Sonogram Technician Schools Accredited? The majority of ultrasound technician colleges have earned some type of accreditation, whether regional or national. However, it’s still imperative to verify that the program and school are accredited. Among the most highly respected accrediting agencies in the field of sonography is the Joint Review Committee on Education in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (JRC-DMS). Schools earning accreditation from the JRC-DMS have undergone a rigorous assessment of their teachers and educational materials. If the college is online it can also receive accreditation from the Distance Education and Training Council, which targets online or distance learning. All accrediting agencies should be acknowledged by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation. Along with ensuring a premium education, accreditation will also assist in acquiring financial assistance and student loans, which are often not offered for non-accredited schools. Is Job Placement Assistance offered? You will undoubtedly want to hit the ground running after graduation, but getting that initial job in a new profession can be difficult without support. Ask if the sonographer programs you are considering have job placement programs and what their placement rates are. High and rapid placement rates are an excellent sign that the schools have substantial networks and great relationships with Oregon healthcare employers. It also corroborates that their students are well regarded and sought after.

Where is the School Located? For many students, the college they pick will need to be within driving distance of their Juntura OR home. Students who have decided to attend online classes naturally will not have to worry themselves with the location of the campus. However, the availability of area internships will be of concern. One thing to keep in mind is that if you decide to enroll in a school that is out of state or even out of your local area, you might have to pay a higher tuition. State colleges generally charge higher tuitions for out of state residents. And community colleges typically charge a higher tuition for those students that live outside of their districts.

What are the Class Sizes ? Unless you are the sort of person that likes to sit far in the back of class or get lost in the crowd, you will probably want a small class size. Smaller classes enable more individual participation and personalized instruction. Ask the colleges you are reviewing what the typical student to teacher ratio is for their classrooms. If practical you may want to monitor one or more classes before making your final determination. This will also give you an opportunity to talk with a few of the instructors and students to get their opinions regarding the sonogram tech program also.

Does the College Accommodate your Schedule? And last you must confirm that the ultrasound tech  school you finally select can furnish the class schedule you need. This is especially important if you decide to continue working while attending classes. If you need to schedule evening or weekend classes in the Juntura OR area, verify that they are available. If you can only attend part-time, find out if that is an alternative and how many courses or credit hours you would have to carry. Juntura, Oregon

Juntura is an unincorporated community in Malheur County, Oregon, United States on U.S. Route 20. The word juntura is Spanish for "juncture", and the community was named for its proximity to the confluence of the Malheur River with the North Fork Malheur River.[1] The name was probably selected by local settler B. L. Milligan, who arrived in the area in the 1880s and who later served as county school superintendent.[1] Juntura post office was established in 1890 and is still operating.[1] The community's development slowed after World War II, and on November 2, 1976, the town voted to disincorporate.[1] Juntura is part of the Ontario micropolitan area.
